PTA is a way to engage families and communities in encouraging educational success and supporting special programs and activities. Volunteering at Hayhurst School is a way for parents, guardians, grandparents, friends and community members to show the children how much they value education. There are many ways to get involved and you can choose a commitment that best suits your family and your schedule.

Normally, general PTA meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday, 6:30-8 p.m. at the library. During Covid-19 our meetings are held online via Zoom.
In 2018 we introduced a workshop series–Parenting Is Hard–as part of our PTA meetings. We expect we’ll continue this tradition for years to come.
When we have programming as part of the PTA meeting we limit the business part to about 20 minutes. The business part of the PTA meetings includes the principal’s report. You are welcome to attend whenever you can and for however long.
Executive board meetings are normally held on the same night as the general meeting from 6-6:30 p.m.
Minutes from all general meetings shall be posted on the website for public review and each monthly general meeting minutes shall approved at the following meeting.
Quorum for each general meeting shall be 5 voting members.
Meeting Minutes are here.
