The Hayhurst Garden Committee is always welcoming new people to be a part of the team. If you would like to collaborate with other like minded folks about garden education, native plants, mason bees, beautification projects and general maintenance of our school landscape please reach out to Michael Patterson or to Nadya Burchette.

Project Update: The garden area is in need of some TLC and plans are in the works to rebuild the garden beds, replant the sensory barrels, weed the garden and courtyard, and add more gravel if needed. We will then decide what to plant and see who would like to help us care for a spring and summer crop. Due to pandemic constraints, we are unsure about how and when we will offer Garden Club again. Please know we are looking into ways to get kids back into the garden as soon as possible. In the meantime, we would like to have things growing in our space for the greater enrichment of our community. Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities with work parties and watering help!

The School Beautification Project- Phase 1, is in the works! Committee members have already spent hours considering and choosing appropriate plants to add to the school landscape at the front of the school. We will begin planting as plants become available. We are so grateful for the continued support of our PTA and community members in making such a project possible. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
