We are looking for more help for the Weekend Food Bags program.
What we need
- Come help fill bags on Fridays at 8am (please feel free to come when you can)
- Help drive some of the bags to Stephen’s Creek Crossing after they are loaded (this is new for 2020 and we’d love to get a rotation of drivers to deliver bags so it doesn’t fall on 1 person every week)
- Help pick up food from Grocery Outlet (once a month on a Thursday)
Background
We have a number of families in the Hayhurst community who are food insecure. With thanks to Take Action, Fred Meyer, Hayhurst PTA, Odyssey PTA and Ainsworth PTA for their generous donations we are able to provide weekly bags of food to Hayhurst, Odyssey and Ainsworth families in need to help them through the weekend. We meet on Friday mornings at 8am in the cafeteria to fill the bags.
Every year this program gets better as we make changes when people bring in new ideas. We’d love to have some new volunteers!
