Hi Chess Families,
Quadlandia is my new series of beginner-friendly online chess tournaments held Tuesday nights 5:00PM-8:00PM PST beginning on 8/25/2020. The first episode of Quadlandia benefits Hayhurst Chess Club, which recently lost funding when Chess for Success had to make budget cuts due to Covid-19. I’m sending $5 of every entry to the Hayhurst PTA.
I’m mailing real medals and typewritten congratulations to the winner of each four-person quad. If people like this, I’ll offer more online events.
Quadlandia is small, low-key, and very beginner friendly. Each participant plays opponents of similar strength. Games are NWSRS rated (USCF ratings possible in the future). I’ll run these at least once a month, possibly more if people are interested.
