Registration is open for Hayhurst Chess Club’s Winter Term!

After a terrific Fall Term which included raising $1,380 for Hayhurst PTA, Hayhurst Chess Club is back for Winter! We are open to students of all abilities, whether they are learning the rules for the first time or striving to win state championships. 

Coach Chad has been part of Hayhurst Chess Club as a parent and coach since 2016, helping the club win the 2019 OSCF K5 Team State Championship, multiple Regional Championships, and countless individual awards. Chad works alongside USCF National Masters and is supported by a world-class chess curriculum that is engaging and effective.

Grades: 2nd-5th (1st grade by permission of instructor)

Day and Time: Wednesday 2:30-3:30

Snacks: Snacks are not provided. Students may bring their own snacks and consume them during the first fifteen minutes of the lesson.

Location: Hayhurst Elementary School, Room Number TBD

Scholarships: Rose City Chess matches 100% of PTA contributions for need-based scholarships for after-school clubs. If cost is a barrier, please contact us. For clubs with 16+ students, Rose City Chess also offers reduced tuition for up to two volunteers who can commit to helping for the entire term.
